Banner guidelines
- Banners for GLACURH 2014 will be electronic. Judging criteria can be found below.
- Please submit banners to [email protected] by Friday October 24th at 7pm.
- Banner MUST include the delegation's institution name.
- Any derogatory, disrespectful, or inappropriate designs that offend or put down any other delegations will disqualify the institution and the delegation will lose an additional 100 spirit points
- Please submit images in a .jpeg format. Please be sure to send a high resolution image to avoid pixilation.
Judging Criteria for Banner will be as follows:
- Originality: 30
- Relevance: 10
- Creativity/Individuality: 10
- Use of original images (i.e. photos, original artwork, etc.): 10
- Aesthetics: 20
- Appeal: 10
- Organization: 10
- Timeliness: 5
- Banner submitted on time: 5
- Spirit and Theme: 45
- Spirit and liveliness: 10
- Incorporation of GLACURH spirit: 10
- Creative use of the theme – “The Great Arctic Adventure: Expedition Leadership”: 20
- Incorporating school name/delegation: 5
display guidelines
- Display can be no larger than 2.5'x2.5'x2.5' (height x width x length)
- Display must be submitted by Friday, October 31, 2014 to be considered for judging
- Display must be handmade. There is no limit to the supplies that you are allowed to use
- Displays must incorporate the GLACURH 2014 theme “The Great Artic Adventure: Expedition Leadership” as well as information regarding the delegation's institution. Institution title must be visibly present on the display.
- Any derogatory, disrespectful, or inappropriate designs that offend or put down any other delegation will disqualify the institution and the delegation will lose an additional 100 spirit points
- Displays should submit their displays at the time of check-in.
Display Judging Criteria:
Display judging criteria will be based on a 10 point scales for each category. Per the GLACURH governing documents, the judging criteria will be as follows:
- Creativity & Originality: 10
- Incorporation of conference theme “The Great Arctic Adventure: Expedition Leadership”: 10
- Aesthetics and appeal: 10
- Incorporation of information about institution: 10
- Incorporation of “School Spirit”: 10
- Relevant Information about the Institution, Residence Halls, and Campus-Wide Government: 50s
roll call guidelines
Roll call is a time for your delegation to share pride and creativity with the region. For the 2014 conference, the following criterion needs to be followed.

Awards will be given to the “Best Roll Call” winners in small, medium, and large school categories. The roll-calls will be judged by the Spirit Chair along with a selected panel of judges. Based off of the GLACURH governing documents, the following criteria will be used to judge all qualifying roll-calls:

- Roll Calls shall not exceed 90 seconds. A penalty of 10 spirit points will be deducted from each school for every 10 seconds beyond the maximum time limit. Some type of warning will be given to the group at 60 seconds. Another warning signal will be given to schools at 90 seconds. All schools will be required to end their roll call at 120 seconds (or two minutes).
- The theme of “The Great Arctic Adventure: Expedition Leaderships” should be incorporated.
- The name of the school must be incorporated into the roll call somehow (vocal, props, banner, etc.)
- Props will be permitted for use. Individual delegations/schools will be responsible for any damage to Indiana State University property incurred during a delegation’s roll call. Glitter, paint, and confetti will not be permitted. Consult the Spirit Chair if you have any questions or concerns about props.
- Any disrespectful, derogatory, or inappropriate roll calls will be removed from the running for “Best Roll Call” and will receive a spirit point deduction of 60 points. This includes music or chants that contain swear word or vulgar ideas.
- Roll Call music can be e-mailed to the Spirit Chairs at [email protected] prior to conference arrival. If you cannot or choose not to e-mail it, you may bring your music to check-in. Roll Call music turned in by hand will not be accepted past 4:30pm the day of the conference. E-mail music will not be accepted after 6pm the day before the conference. (October 30, 2014)
